Terms of Service

  1. By joining and participating in our community, you agree to adhere to the Terms of Service as well as our rules and guidelines throughout our platforms.
  2. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate within the community. There are no exceptions, if you are under 18 you cannot contribute or join the species.
  3. Users are required to be in the Housedragon Discord to join the species. Users are not required to join the Toyhouse world but doing so is encouraged.
  4. Hate speech, homophobia, hateful behaviour, racism, bigotry, slurs etc. will NOT be permitted, even if you are "reclaiming" the terms, violating this rule results in an instant ban.
  5. No scamming or attempting to circumvent rules. This includes but is not limited to, art theft, copying, or tracing. Colour picking and taking inspiration from a design is only allowed with permission from the original artist. Attempting to exploit loopholes or test staff limits is prohibited, users doing so will be warned or banned depending on the severity of the offense.
  6. AI art is not allowed to be posted on any Housedragon platform (Website, Discord, Toyhouse etc.) Any users found using generative AI will be banned, discussions of generative AI in any positive light will result in a warning or ban.
  7. Harassment or witch hunting of any kind is not permitted. If you have concerns a user is violating our TOS/Rules please bring the violation to the attention of a staff member.
  8. Be respectful to other users and staff. Bullying, hostility, victimisation, or passive-aggressive behaviour is not allowed. If you have an issue with another user, contact staff. If you have an issue with staff, contact an owner or administrator. Be respectful to others at all times, we have a no-tolerance policy for disrespect or hate. Conduct yourself politely, kindly, and in good faith with others. 
  9. Users should not take matters into their own hands or attempt to resolve issues related to the species independently. All concerns, disputes, or grievances within the community should be promptly reported to a staff member for proper handling and resolution. This ensures that everyone involved receives fair and consistent treatment, and maintains a respectful environment.
  10. Staff members reserve the right to enforce these rules with warnings or bans, depending on what they feel is more appropriate. Members who continue to negatively impact the community will be removed.

Breaching Terms of Service and/or Rules

In the event that the Terms of Service and/or Rules are broken and disciplinary action is necessary, it will be carried out fairly and in accordance with the following guidelines:

Breaking a rule will result in a warning. On the third strike you will be removed from the server without further appeal.

Staff reserve the right to terminate your access to the server even if you do not have three strikes if they feel the severity of the rule breaking warrants doing so.

Offense System

Housedragons staff use a THREE Warning system as described above. Three official warnings will result in a ban from the species. Small verbal warnings or reminders of the rules are not logged but repeated offenses will be.

Continuing a behaviour directly after a warning may escalate to a ban without additional warnings. (For example: Message spamming in the server will result in a Verbal Warning, if you continue the behaviour after a warning you will receive an Official Warning. If it continues from there you may be banned.)

If staff feels its best to outright give an Official Warning or Ban it will be discussed among staff and issued accordingly. (This will only occur for serious offenses.)

Verbal Warning Offenses:
  • Spamming/Ad reposting
  • Disrespect towards members or staff
  • Breaking the rules pinned in the Discord
  • Stirring/Creating drama
  • Mini-Modding
  • Ranting, venting, discussing drama, etc.
  • And other small offenses
Official Warning Offenses:
  • Repeated spamming/Spamming to an intense degree
  • Persistent disrespect/negativity towards staff/members
  • Loopholing rules
  • Heavily referencing artwork or characters, or taking inspiration/colour picking without permission.
  • Claiming unofficial designs as associated with the species
  • Backing out of adopts from staff or members without just cause
  • Creating false claims, reports, tickets, etc.
Bannable Offenses:
  • Any slurs, derogatory terms, hate speech, etc.
  • Bullying
  • Art Theft / Tracing
  • Scamming, ghosting commissioners, theft
  • Harassment, stalking, abuse
  • Sharing hateful, harmful media

If there is an ongoing issue with another user please contact staff via tickets in our Discord.

Rights and content

Housedragons are a closed species created and owned by DENTALHYGIENE in collaboration with others as credited. DENTALHYGIENE and any persons chosen by DENTALHYGIENE retain full rights to the species, concept and initial designs. When uploading, submitting and/or creating art for the species and/or in participating in the species, you retain ownership of your content, but you grant Housedragons the right to use and display it as needed. Here meaning posting your work in relation to events or masterlist images. We do not sell, distribute, or use any designs or art without explicit permission from the original artist.

Closed species designs may not be shared or posted without an official approved design. MYO are obtainable for species currency generated through participating in activities on the Housedragon discord. Unofficial designs may not be shared within the species, sold/traded, or used for events. Any open species associated with the Housedragon world may be freely discussed and designed but must be uploaded to the Housedragon website masterlist.

All user designs whether self created or commissioned must be uploaded with the relevant MYO item.You may use your MYO slot to offer custom design commissions for existing community members or offer custom designs to users on their own MYO. Premade designs may not be sold as adopts and may only resold for the value listed on the Housedragons neocities site. Housedragons onsite value can be updated with proof by submitting a ticket to staff.

Housedragons may only be designed without MYO by staff members and officially designated and selected artists (known as 'Official Artists'), who have their own established limits and guidelines provided to them by the Housedragon staff team. The sale of Housedragon designs or adoptables (also known as adopts) may only be done with permission from DENTALHYGIENE, resale for the listed value and retrade of existing official designs is allowed.

No part of the Housedragon IP may be used for commercial profit without direct permission from DENTALHYGIENE.

Ownership Rights

When owning a Housedragon you may freely create an identity for your Housedragon, use them for roleplay, fanwork creations, alternative universe including human or other species designs, commission work or create art pieces. You may trade your Housedragon, or resell them for their appraised value*.

You may redesign your Housedragon; redesign rules are fairly flexible, as long as the Housedragon remains recognizable from the original design and uses the proper redesign items. If the design is similar enough to the original design will be determined by staff.

  • You may add or remove traits through the use of items.
  • You may change colours or patterns on the design within reason.
  • You may change the body type of the design.

*Appraised value is determined by the value shown on the Housedragon Website Masterlist in the characters 'stats' section. This value can only be set by staff and is related to commissioned artwork value and/or adoptable value. All appraisals must go through a Discord ticket in order to update an appraised value.

Members found selling their housedragon for greater than site value may be banned.

You are NOT permitted to:
  • Use your Housedragon for NFTs or generative AI.
  • Use your Housedragon to promote hate or harmful ideologies.
  • Create NSFW, sexual or explicit content of Housedragons characters. Sell your Housedragon for more than the appraised value or worth.
  • Fraudulently claim you are an owner, staff member or creator of the species.
  • Co-ownership is not recognized by Housedragon staff; any issues that arise from co-ownership will not be resolved by staff.
  • Claim a design as your own when you are not the designer or steal or copy others’ designs for your own Housedragon.
  • You are not permitted to take inspiration from another user without permission.

How to Get a Housedragon

Adoptable Sales

Housedragon designs will be sold by Staff and selected Official Artists in the discord; they may be sold in Flatsales (fixed price), Auctions (bidding), OTAs (offering money, art, designs, characters), or Raffles. Staff and Official Artists may also host giveaways where designs will be raffled off for free, and events or contests where designs may be won.

  • Housedragons won from giveaways, events, or contests have no value, and can not be sold unless appraised for additional artwork and sold for that total value.
  • Personal work does not increase value for across the board consistency.
  • Housedragons purchased through OTA, Auctions, Flatsales, will have the purchasing value set as their base value and cannot be sold for more than that value unless value is added by appraisal of additional work.
MYOs
  • MYOs can be obtained using the species currency. Currency is obtained via participation within the species and tracked by bot within the server.
  • You may obtain an MYO through trading or receiving a gift from another member.

MYOs cannot be resold for USD or any real life currency. They can be traded for non-currency such as characters, items, commissions.

General Design Rules

  • No hateful imagery, references or likeness is tolerated.
  • Gore is allowed but needs appropriate warnings on the Masterlist where applicable. Art depicting gore needs to be kept within the relevant channels on Discord, placed behind a spoiler, and properly marked.
  • Redesigning your character is open as long as the design is still recognizably the original character and you have the needed item(s) relevant to your design changes.
    • Note: Redesigns are based on the original design, not any previous redesigns. You will need the relevant item to add back any previously removed traits.

Trading & Selling

Trading Code of Conduct
  • When transferring a Housedragon, you acknowledge that you no longer claim any ownership of the character, furthermore you cannot enforce rules for the new owner to abide by when transferring. Personal TOS (e.g. trade bonding) cannot be enforced on Housedragon characters or designs.
  • When trading a Housedragon with additional non-species one off forms or other species forms, they must all be traded and or sold together.
  • Housedragons that are based off of non-Housedragon characters may be appraised including the value of the other non-Housedragon characters to the total value of the Housedragon; all forms must be traded together.
  • Unsolicited offers are not permitted, users found repeatedly sending uninvited offers will face diciplinary action.
  • Backing out of trades which both parties have agreed to and initiated will result in diciplinary action, similarly forcing users to trade back is not permitted. Repeated offences may result in suspension or termination from the species.
Adopt Sales Code of Conduct
  • If you have purchased a design, you are required to respond to the seller within 48 hours. If you do not respond to the seller within 48 hours, you will be temporarily suspended from participating in purchasing Housedragon designs and the design will go to the next highest bid/offer or will be put back up for sale. Repeated offences can result in a ban or suspension from participation in sales, giveaways, and raffles. Please ensure you can afford any bids placed regardless of outside factors.
  • Backing out of adopts is not permitted without just cause. Similarly, bids are final. If participating in an auction be sure you can afford your bid. Breaking this rule can result in a ban.
  • If users are found purchasing an excessive volume of Housedragons within a short period of time, they may be temporarily suspended from participating in purchasing Housedragon designs, or require additional verification to ensure buyer safety.
Trading
  • You cannot trade or advertise any Housedragon characters that are account bound or on a cooldown.
  • Trading a Housedragon for a character that has a higher or lower value than the Housedragon does not alter the Housedragon’s value in any way.
  • Linked designs must be traded together.
Selling
  • A Housedragon’s base value will be directly listed on the site, this is the value they received from initial purchase and any appraised commission value. This value will be edited/changed when appraised via the ticketing system.
  • When appraising a Housedragon, please note that only art commissioned directly for real money allows for additional value to be granted. Trading for art does not permit for additional value to be listed.
  • To appraise a design, proof of the monetary transaction must be provided, such as screenshots of the payment method confirmation message or an email associated with the purchase.
  • Value cannot be added to the Housedragon unless it has been officially appraised. Individuals caught selling a Housedragon for unappraised/unofficial worth is considered scamming. You should reach out to a staff member or create a ticket if you suspect a user of attempting to scam or inflate a character's value.
  • You cannot create a one-off character alongside a Housedragon to then sell the one-off and include the Housedragon in that sale. This is considered loopholing the no member adopts rule.
  • Housedragons cannot be added to bundled sales unless the bundle itself does not exceed the total value of the Housedragon.
Vouchering
  • Housedragons can only be vouchered for their total value. This includes base value and any appraised values.
  • Housedragons without any monetary value cannot be vouchered.
  • Vouchers need to be approved in the #support-ticket Discord channel prior to posting. Users caught vouchering a Housedragon for higher than their total value will be reprimanded under the scamming rule.

Voiding your Housedragon

If you no longer wish for your Housedragon or other related species to be valid, you can freely void them as long as you meet the following requirements:

  • You are the original designer of the Character, or you have permission from the original designer to do so.
  • You are the current owner of the Character.

Housedragon characters once voided cannot be unvoided until after a cooldown period of one month. Any Housedragon that has been voided will be tagged on the masterlist as such. Housedragons that have been voided can be freely traded as usual, however they are still only allowed to be sold for their total appraised value.

When unvoided a Housedragon will return to their value from before being voided, regardless of any art purchased in the time when they were voided. Anyone found exploiting their voided status to resell the Housedragon for higher prices only to later reinstate them will have their request to do so denied and potentially earn an official warning for doing so.

Account Binding Your Housedragon

Account binding is an optional feature you can request through a #support-ticket to bind the Housedragon to your account. By doing this, you can no longer trade the Housedragon and it will become tied to your account.

  • If you request to bind your Housedragon to the account, they will be bound to your account for a minimum of 1 year from the date of your initial request, after this period you are welcome to freely request to unbind them..
  • Housedragons that have been account bound will keep their value listed on the site and it will remain even if they are unbound in the future

Copyright Based Characters

Users are not permitted to include copyrighted elements in their Housedragon designs. However, they are allowed to be lightly inspired by a copyrighted character or intellectual property. They may not have key elements of the copyright protected source in the design.

For example, logos may not be used, and key character design features may not be directly copied into a Housedragon interpretation. Designs heavily inspired by a copywritten source are not allowed, but colour schemes and abstracted references are permitted.

Acceptability of CBC designs will be determined by how easily the staff can recognise the source material in the design.

Housedragons based off of characters or sources of media that are description based where they do not have an official appearance/design may be closer to the source inspiration design-wise due to descriptions requiring personal interpretation.

When submitting a copyright based character (CBC) design for approval the source material that inspired the design must be disclosed.

CBC Designs cannot be sold as adopts and will be uploaded without any value even if the design was commissioned, but can be sold or vouchered for any appraised value.

User Raffles

Users can request via #support-ticket to have their own Housedragon related raffles within the server. Raffles will be hosted by the staff team, while users will submit the items to be raffled and be credited as the source of the raffle items.

Users may provide the following to be raffled:

  • MYO slots
  • Items
  • Currency
  • Approved Official Housedragon designs that the user owns.

We do not allow customs or art to be raffled at this time, if you wish to offer free art please advertise in the #draw-request channel.

Anything that is account bound or on cooldown cannot be raffled.

The contents of the raffle prizes must be sent to the prize bank account on the website.

Users may request the prize to have a cooldown and the date that the raffle is posted, besides that they are not permitted to request any specific rules that the winner of the raffle must abide by.

Banning & Account Termination

  • Users who have been banned from the Discord server will be banned from the species as well. They may not participate in any events or prompts hosted onsite. Any Housedragon that they may own will still be under their ownership.
  • Users who are banned cannot receive any new Housedragons, however they may request that the Housedragons on their account prior to their termination are traded to other users. This can be done by getting the additional party to create a #support-ticket on Discord and providing proof of the request of transfer, or the banned user can message the Housedragon account on discord to request the transfer of characters.
  • When a user is banned from the server, discussion or speculation regarding the reason for the ban is prohibited.
  • A user can send an appeal request by messaging the Housedragon account on Discord, you will need to send a friend request to the account to do so, all requests are accepted by the account.
  • Appealing does not guarantee you will be unbanned and the team reserves the right to reject your appeal.

Voluntary Termination

  • If you no longer wish to have your Housedragon site account, you can request to deactivate your account at any time.
  • Deactivating your account will also void all your Housedragons from the species
  • If you wish to reverse this decision, you can make a ticket within the server to request your account be reinstated. This can be done at any time.
